elope is teaming up with the local Mardi Gras Krewe of Chewbacchus to present a NOLA experience you'll never forget! The Chewbacchus Parade is from 6-10 pm and is quite an undertaking after a long day at the show, so please join us afterwards for the Chewbacchanal from 10pm till late.
What's a Chewbacchanal? It's a massive, sci-fi parody block party organized by the NOLA-based Krewe of Chewbacchus in honor of his holiness, the Sacred Drunken Wookie. The event occupies the entire 4300 block of Saint Claude Avenue including several large tented areas and outdoor art installations. Guests 21 and over are invited to enjoy the entertainment lineup, whic includes: DJ MicPhedusha, Oscillation Information, The Dead Music Capital Band, the Brownout Brass Band and more. Several food trucks will be onsite for hungry partiers. Meet Peter Mayhew, the actor who played Chewbacca in Star Wars and Andy Richter!
PLEASE RSVP ONLY if you know you're going! We have a limited number of prepaid wristbands available (limit 5 per company), so commit and RSVP now. If you're unsure, you can always purchase your entry at the door the night of the event for $10.00 if you're in costume, or $15.00 for non-costumed "Muggle" participants.
Attire: Sci-Fi Parody Costumes. Bonus points and gold star nebulas for including elope items in your ensemble!
